Denise Berry

Denise M. Berry was previously the executive director of Shelterhouse of Midland & Gladwin Counties as well as the chief executive officer of Family & Children’s Services of Mid-Michigan. This is Denise’s second time around in Michigan. A retired Army engineer who served for 13 years, Denise was the first director of Military Student Affairs at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) prior to accepting a position working with veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma at Emory University’s School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Denise has advanced degrees from Columbia University, Webster University, and Central Michigan University. She was the recipient of SVSU’s Outstanding Performance Award for 2015-16, vice-chair of the Mid-Michigan Veteran’s Advocacy Council, and staff advisor for the SVSU Men’s Club Hockey Team. Denise competed for the U.S. Women’s National Ringette team at the World Ringette Championships in Helsinki, Finland in 2015 and served as assistant coach for the silver medal winning team at the World Ringette Championships in Toronto in 2017. Denise was again selected to play for the U.S. at the World Ringette Championships in Espoo, Finland in 2022, where Team USA recently won a gold medal and brought the President’s Cup back to the United States. She was awarded a Visionary Voice award by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center in 2022. Denise has served on the board for the United Way of Midland County and was vice president of USA Ringette. She currently serves on the boards for The Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, SOGI Youth Advisory Council, and American Legion Post #439. Denise is also certified by HRCI as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and earned a certificate in Applied Positive Psychology in 2020.

Yolanda Bellinger

Yolanda is the Chief Clinical Officer of SVRC & Westlund. She earned her Bachelors of Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University and her Master of Social Work Degree from Michigan State University.

 

Yolanda has experience in the treatment of numerous mental health diagnoses and treatment such as individual sex offender treatment, marriage counseling, individual therapy with children and adults with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Yolanda is state certified in Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
