The Marketplace is open year round! Mon & Wed 10a-6p Fri 10a-7p Sat 10a-5p
Federal 131 is open daily Mon-Wed 11a-11p Thurs-Sat 11a-12a Sun 11a-3p
The small businesses (on the first floor) that comprise the Marketplace all follow the exact same hours of operation (with a single exception; Federal 131 the wine bar & tap room.)
Due to the eclectic nature of the small businesses inside the Marketplace we are unable to publish a daily menu for each individually owned business as they change regularly. Please visit the Marketplace or check your favorite vendors Facebook page for up to date information. Menu items and specials, including breakfast change often, this is the cool and eclectic nature of a European Market and we believe gives you a great reason to visit frequently. Looking forward to seeing you at the Market!
SVRC Industries, in partnership with the Downtown Saginaw Farmers Market, the City of Saginaw, and the Saginaw Downtown Development Authority (DDA), has redeveloped the iconic former Saginaw News building into a 100,000 square foot mixed-use facility, which is named the SVRC Marketplace. The Marketplace will impact the immediate community bring an estimated 10,000 people to Downtown Saginaw weekly. The result of this project on the larger community is an increase in access to fresh fruits and vegetables, job creation for local residents, entrepreneurial growth in the community and increasing economic development for our community. The SVRC Marketplace is a sustainable project that builds on SVRC’s core-mission of creating employment opportunities and community access by offering healthy food options, integrated jobs, supportive services, and vibrant gathering spaces in a single downtown development. The SVRC Marketplace will be a mixed-use facility supporting a seasonal/outdoor farmers’ market, mini retail businesses, business-incubators, Conference Center, Children’s Trauma Assessment Center, cooler rental space, offices and retail spaces.
The Marketplace is on the National Registry of Historic places and as a result of its historic nature qualified this project to benefit from Historic Tax Benefits. We are proud to preserve the history of this amazing building and bring to life a new and enriching addition to the Riverfront Saginaw community. Without the partnership of historic tax benefits, the National Park Service, the State Historic Preservation and Michigan Economic Development Corporation, this project would not have been possible.
Marketplace celebrated it’s Grand Opening on Friday, June 22, 2018; opening it’s doors and welcoming record breaking guests to the Riverfront Saginaw Community and inside the market.
Because the Marketplace supports local small business and entrepreneurial development our vendors need days to restock, recreate, replenish and prepare; due to this reason our market will operate on a 4 day week. The Markeplace is open Monday & Wednesday 10a-6p, Friday 10a-7p and Saturday 10a-5p. However, we will have larger anchor tenants that will offer extended hours and services such as Frankenmuth Credit Union and Federal 131 a Wine Bar & Tap Room! In addition to the small businesses, eateries, fresh meats, cheeses, fish and produce, we also offer community integrated programs and community focused businesses through our suite tenants such as Spence Brothers, Frankenmuth Credit Union, Westlund Guidance Trauma Assessment, Westlund Guidance Autism Clinic, SVRC Industries, Central Michigan University Research Corporation and more. Because of this investment into the Riverfront Saginaw community, interest from other developers has increased. We look forward to the future and expect to see more new businesses opening in our downtown community.
